Unexpected Place to find Travel Products: REI

So today I was at home & trying to work on this trip to Spain that the BoyFriend & I are planning. Since we are taking a few buses & trains in Southern Spain, I decided it may be easier to get a backpack as my luggage instead of my crew luggage.  What better place to see some backpacks than REI?!

The backpacks are pretty pricey- and since my TravelPro went kaput on me a month ago and since I have to bid reserve (eek! gasp! explitives!) buying a $100 backpack right now seems extremely unwise since I need to replace my Crew Luggage.

I digress...While in REI, the wonderfully outdoorsy woman showed me a few of her travel products which I did not purchase but am very excited about.

1) GoToob by humangear- $24.95
These are obviously more expensive than your average travel bottles, but they are made of durable silicone for an easy sqeeze. The base of the cap twists to allow you to select the contents (so you don't try to shampoo with your sunscreen)...Oh and there is a no-drip valve :) Overall a great product from what I see. They are available individually at REI- I plan to buy one to test out. If any of my readers have tried them out- I'd love to hear what you think!

2.) Light My Fire Spork-$3
Go Green (or red, or whatever color you choose) and take this plastic utensil with you. I like the knife edge on the fork for those times when you need to cut through your crew meal.  Not sure why I didn't buy this today- but I plan to.

3) Eagle Creak Pack-It System

I wondered how these Pack-It Envelopes worked.....thank you REI for including a video on your website!  I'm a Packing Cube kind of girl so I may have to try these out. They seem to be a Flight Crew's BFF to achieve a wrinkle-free wardrobe on the road!  The little toiletry bags seem great to me too since they are waterproof. One for electronics & one for my toiletries! The reviews on REI's website all tell of customers who are hooked....hmmm I see a Visa Charge in my future.....

Between me & the boyfriend, we'll probably get a few of these items and test them out for our trip....which by the way is becoming tedious to plan...and more expensive than this Frugal Flying Bachelorette would prefer. It will be amazing....details to come!
