This month, I am flying mostly 1-day trips with a TON of sitting around airports. Sure that gives me plenty of time to relax and grab some food- but eating airport food can get very costly! With the rise in gas prices, my commute each day to work sucks my bank account dry. Now more than ever I have to begin packing a lunch. DayTrips make this much easier!
Today is grocery shopping day. I try to time it with gas fill-up day and head over to the Wal-Mart's gas station that offers $0.03 off per gallon with the use of a gift-card (available at checkout inside the store.)
BREAKFAST
- Cup of Oatmeal (I usually buy a box of the instant packets/take them from my layovers. This time I'm going to try buying the big round container and adding raisins & cinnamon & nuts that I already have at home. Just scoop into a snacksize baggie and there ya go!)
-1 Muffin (Get a just-add-water mix that makes 6 muffins)
MORNING SNACK: frozen blueberries
LUNCH
-PB & Banana Sandwich on sandwich flats bread
-baby carrots
AFTERNOON SNACK: frozen yogurt (freeze a yogurt cup)
I'm home in time for dinner this week & don't have much sit-time, but here are more Frugal FA Meals:
-Tuna Salad (I prefer the pouches so I can toss the smelly stuff) and Crackers.
-Cheese & Crackers (and tuna?)
-leftovers from my dinner at home the night before
-cooked noodles (i prefer the egg noodle kind bc they are tasty enough cold)
-crescent rolls with cheese wrapped inside. (delcioussss)
-rice with diced tomatos & green chilis....and black beans.
-pretzels, crackers, cookies
-Granola bars
What's in your lunch?

ReplyDeleteSecond, I write a blog about healthy snacks that work while traveling. As a FA we know how much it sucks to try to stay healthy on the fly :) Check it out when you get a chance
