Pros & Cons of working Christmas

It's Christmas....and I'm working.  Well technically I'm at the hotel during my rest time.  So what better way to use my time & than blog.  I've been neglecting you all (all zero of my followers...btw go follow me on Twitter (FlyBachelorette) if you haven't (you know...all zero of you who read my blog)

Pros & Con's of working Christmas:

Con- Waking up at 5am with no presents to open because you already opened them 2 days before.
Con- Thinking your report time was 638am departing to the northern hub & getting to the plane to find that the report time was 6:25am and you were going to the southern hub.
PRO- not having to go to the northern hub aka- delay central.
PRO- finishing up some Christmas Shopping in the airport once arriving in the southern hub during 1-hour sit before departure.
CON/PRO- Full Flights (Con because we wanted an easy day for Christmas, but Pro because the airline isn't losing money)
PRO- Co-worker Flight Attendant started the "2011 Celebrity Gossip Predictions" Game....very fun game to play.
PRO- Passenger to our RON (=Remain OverNight) gave all of us a Starbucks Gift Card to thank the crew for coming to work on Christmas!
CON- it was 16*F in our RON city....brrrrr......lington (sorry that cracks me up everytime)
PRO- Complimentary Crew Dinner at the Hotel...yumm....(basically from we saw in the lobby- it was all crew members & a family with an 8 year old that spoke french)
PRO- Playing Cards in the lobby with my crew for a few hours with all of us having left our cell phones in our rooms for quiet time.
PRO- Speaking of Cellphones.....all "Merry Christmas" Texts I got today....and finding out my roommate from initial at my first airline goes to Delta training in 2011!! (congrats to her!  I think she'll be a speaker since she also speaks fluent Dutch)
PRO- last flight of this trip is a Deadhead from the northern hub to base so I can (hopefully) get released and head over to Pittsburgh to spend a few days with my family.
CON- I forgot my Flex Spending reciepts & FMLA paperwork at home, so I have to cut my time with the fam in PIT short so I can submit all of it in time.

Biggest PRO of all......after I'm done tomorrow....I don't work again until 1/11/11...........(I was going to type Jan 11 then realized it's all 1's...yeah I'm a nerd whatever) Life is GOOD!

Airports were packed today! It was surprising actually, until my passengers told me how cheap their tickets were- some were $70 for their trip on Christmas! WHAT?! Insanity.
