Date with Myself!

I've been seeing previews for "Morning Glory" all month and I love a good Chic Flick. Going to see a movie alone might be impossible for some people....but I'm not that insecure.  I am not going to wait around for my friends to become available to see a movie with me. Rarely do I shell out for a movie in the theatre, Rarely do I even want to see most of the movies that are playing....and Rarely do my friends who have the same aviation hell schedules as me are free.

Soooo Yesterday I decided to go to the theatre that's within walking distance of my house (no i didn't walk- it was freezing for NC standards & I had to return a RedBox & meander through Target- which btw I scored a Black framed square mirror to hang above my vanity in my bedroom for only $5!! shopacholic- maybe but I neeeded it) ANYWAYS....it's not one of those new fancy theatres with stadium seating and all of that other crap. Serioulsy- just play me the movie.  Between 4 & 6 they have what I like to call Movie Happy Hour! and instead the movie is only $6. Genious if you ask me- I mean how many people go to the movies M-Thurs for the discounted matinee?

So I took myself to the movies....I highly reccommend it.....AND get the Kids Combo if they have one!  It's seriously the best deal!  Yesterday I was like- "I can't watch a movie without popcorn!"  But then I realized that I would also get thirsty. Small popcorn was $4.25, Small Drink=$3.75.......Kids Combo was $5.25 and was a little bit smaller drink & popcorn AND a small candy- Twix was the obvious choice over the Welches Fruit snacks.

It was fantastic!  Sometimes you just need a date with yourself to remind you that you appreciate yourself...okay that sounds pathetic.

But honestly- if you want to do something- just do it.  Maybe it's because I'm 27 and single that I realize that if you wait around to have a man in my life to do certain things in life that don't require a man (and lets face it- the only thing I need a man for is sex & babies....what I want a man for is his love, affection, companionship and friendship & loyalty etc etc etc)- you might miss out on a LOT of really awesome experiences.  So I'm single- big deal. It's not going to stop me from living my life.

I'll continue going to friends weddings & baby showers because its what I do- I love my friends and am so incredibly happy for them.  And so incredibly happy I can fly for free to go do all of that.

That's not to say there aren't any contenders in the race for my heart..........until next time....
